Make Sure Your Dog’s Tags are up to Date
Your dog is part of your family and your companion. You want them to be safe and around for a long time. Even a very well trained dog can run off from time to time. They may see a squirrel or cat and get the sudden urge to chase them down the street. There are things you can do to feel a little better if this situation occurs. In most cases your pet will return without a search, but it is better to be prepared in case they don’t.
The first thing you can do is make sure they have a strong dog collar. This way it doesn’t break or fall off if they get separated from you. Secondly, purchase a pet tag for the dog collar. Pet tags come in many shapes, sizes and can have all the information on them you need to have your dog safely returned to you. Most dogs are not returned to their owners because they either do not have a tag or their tags are outdated. The result of this is often someone taking them in or them being sent to the shelter or pound. Losing your family pet can be a horrible experience and leave you devastated. It is better to do everything you can to make sure this doesn’t happen.
Give yourself some peace of mind by buying them their own personal pet tag with all your information on it. This way when someone finds your dog, whether it is a neighbor or animal control, they know where it belongs and can get in contact with you. It will save you the trouble of patrolling the neighborhood for days and making lost dog posters. You do so much to protect your dog and ensure they have a happy life. This is the one thing you don’t want to forget. The cost is small compared to losing your family friend.

Definitely, pet tags are very necessary for safe return of lost pets. Microchip is very reliable too in case the tag was accidentally lost on dog’s neck.
